LET’S CLEAR
THINGS UP.
A little understanding goes a long way. These answers are general guidance, not a diagnosis.
What is padel?
Padel is primarily a doubles racket sport played on an enclosed court. Solid perforated rackets, an underarm serve and glass-wall rebounds give it a distinctive style of play.
Why does my elbow hurt after padel?
Repeated gripping and racket loading can contribute to elbow symptoms. Pain can have several causes, so persistent or worsening symptoms need an individual assessment rather than an online diagnosis.
Is padel hard on the knees?
Lunges, turns and braking ask the knees to absorb force. Your fitness, playing load and previous symptoms affect how you tolerate these demands. Padel is not automatically harmful to knees or universally safer than tennis.
Can physiotherapy help with padel injuries?
Physiotherapy may help assess pain, restore mobility and strength, manage load and prepare for a return to court. What is appropriate depends on your individual assessment.
Should I stop playing if I have pain?
Do not keep playing through severe or worsening pain. Reduce or pause the activity that aggravates symptoms and seek advice if pain persists, affects daily life or follows a significant injury.
How long does recovery take?
There is no single recovery timeline. The nature of the problem, severity, your health and the demands of your game all matter. Readiness includes strength, control and confidence, not just pain relief.
Do I need a GP referral?
