Readiness is individual
Returning after ankle sprain depends on the cause, severity and your individual recovery. A fixed number of days does not establish readiness. Work with a clinician if symptoms persist or if the injury has affected strength, movement or confidence.
Rebuild the movements your game needs
An ankle needs to tolerate walking, strength work, balance and gradually more demanding lateral movement. Controlled braking and changes of direction matter before full match play.
Build back gradually
Start with manageable court sessions and progress duration, intensity and frequency thoughtfully. Check symptoms during play and the next day. Recurring pain, swelling or reduced function is a reason to reassess the plan, not a signal to ignore.
